In short
Riposte writes a fair comparison page for each competitor from your product profile and what it reads on their site: a criteria table with pricing first, who should choose which, a verdict and FAQs. When the competitor changes pricing, product or positioning, the page is flagged out of date. One click updates it, and the rows that changed are highlighted so you know what to check.
Comparison pages are some of the most valuable pages on a B2B website. Buyers search "Product A vs Product B" when they're close to deciding, and AI assistants lean on these pages when they compare tools. I built many of them as a product marketer.
The problem is that they go stale. A competitor raises a price or renames a plan, and your page is wrong the same day. Buyers notice, sales notices, and trust drops.
How Riposte writes the page
For each competitor, Riposte writes a fair comparison from two sources: your product profile and what it reads on the competitor's own site, including their pricing page, release notes and the changes it has caught. The page has:
- A title and meta description.
- An intro that says who each product is for.
- A criteria table, with pricing first.
- "Choose us if" and "Choose them if" sections.
- A short verdict and FAQs.
Honest pages win
Competitor prices and plan names are quoted exactly as their site states them. If something isn't on their site, the page says "Not published". If something about your own product is missing, it becomes a [placeholder]. And the page must say where the competitor is stronger. Honest pages are the ones buyers and AI trust.
How it stays true
Every morning, Riposte checks your competitors. When one changes its pricing, product or positioning, the comparison page is marked out of date, with a list of what changed. You also see a banner on your feed. Click Update the page, and the rows that changed are highlighted, for example the Pricing row moving from $49 to $59.

What to do with it
Copy the page as Markdown into your website or CMS, fill the placeholders and publish. Pair it with an action kit so sales hears about the change too.
The bottom line
A comparison page is only useful while it is true. Riposte writes an honest one, watches the competitor every day, and tells you the moment a row goes stale.
Frequently asked questions
Why do comparison pages go out of date?
They quote competitor prices, plans and features, which change often. Most teams only notice when a buyer or a sales rep points it out.
Does Riposte make up facts about competitors?
No. Competitor facts come only from their own pages. Anything not found says 'Not published', and anything missing about your product becomes a [placeholder].
Can I publish the page as it is?
Review it first. Copy it as Markdown into your website, fill any placeholders, and check the facts against the linked sources.
What should a competitor comparison page include?
A comparison table with pricing first, an honest note on who each product suits, a verdict and FAQs. Link to sources for competitor facts so buyers can check them.
Do comparison pages help SEO?
Yes. 'X vs Y' and 'X alternatives' searches come from buyers close to a decision, and a fair, current page can rank for them and get cited by AI assistants.
How often should I update comparison pages?
Whenever the competitor changes pricing, plans or main features, and at least once a quarter. A wrong price on a comparison page loses trust fast.
Is it legal to compare my product with a competitor's?
In many countries comparative marketing is allowed when the claims are true, fair and can be checked, but the rules vary. Check with a lawyer for your market before publishing.
What is the difference between a vs page and an alternatives page?
A vs page compares your product with one competitor. An alternatives page is for people looking to leave a competitor and lists several options, including yours.
Can AI write a competitor comparison page?
AI can write a good first draft from both products' public pages. A person still needs to check every fact and the tone before publishing.
What tool keeps comparison pages up to date?
Riposte watches each competitor's pages every morning and flags your comparison page when something changes. One click updates it, with the changed rows highlighted.
